Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) is going to open a tender for 75 metro sets (4-car-set) on 15th of July 2015 to be used in Kabatas-Mecidiyekoy-Mahmutbey metro line.
The first 36 sets should be delivered starting from 22nd month after sign of contract and be completed in 38th month. The remaining 39 sets should be delivered in 39th-58th months. Terms and conditions can be found at IBB website.
IBB had a related item in its investment program for 144 cars with a budget of TL 534 mn (€ 180 mn). Thus, this tender is expected to have a value about € 350 mn.
IBB has awarded recently Mitsubishi for 126 metro cars of Umraniye Metro and Hyundai Rotem for 68 metro cars of Yenikapi-Haciosman Metro.
18-km-long Mecidiyekoy-Mahmutbey Metro is planned to be completed in 2017, and 7-km-long Kabatas-Mecidiyekoy in 2018.
